childhood memories at its best - Gods country. Having grown up in Dare Co. and cutting my teeth on Milltail Creek and those logging roads with my Grandfather Ken Ward, it is refreshing to see the area much as it looked to me almost fifty years ago. The most peaceful place on earth.
Beautiful state park - We stopped by the office , the ranger gave us a lot of very useful information & suggestions for our visit. We were very impressed & really enjoyed our walk to Moccasin Landing. We are already looking forward to our next visit
Back Country Horse Riding at Its BEST - I have been riding the horse trails in Uwharrie for 17 years. Yes, they are challenging, but that is the backwoods experience that most horseback Trail Riders are craving, not the manicured trails like at other parks and forests. Always something new to see every time I camp. Canebrake Horse Camp is a very nice facility. Have noticed some nice upgrades in the last year or two. Found that there is now a chapter of Back Country Horsemen in the forest helping to maintain the campground and the trails. WAY TO GO!
Great day for a wedding - Got married here on May 17th. Hiked in the park some the day before. The views from the park are awesome the park was very clean and the rangers are extremely nice. It is a wonderful place to get married or take the kids up for a day
trees planted stupid location - I fish in falls lake all the time and when the fish are biting the parking lots are crowded the eno river boat access had a field behind the paved lot that served as an overflow parking lot some body with great ideas planted lots of trees in the overflow parking area with no thought of boaters what a waste of money one of the wildlife officers said that the were thinking of enlarging the parking area so the freshly planted trees will have to be removed my suggestion would be remove the trees while they are still able to be transplanted
A Beautiful Place to be.... - We love to visit here in the early summer. The park is beautiful and the fishing is great. All the Rangers and staff have always been very pleasant and wonderful. Will return for many summers.
